China’s import of palm oil in December 2017

    According to customs data, December imports of palm oil were around 567,077 tonnes, up 3.7% or a rise of 20,169 tonnes from 546,908 tonnes last month, but notably, the figure was still 16.5% lower than the same month of last year (679,537 tonnes), with a reduction of 112,460 tonnes. To be specific, China imported 416,929.092 tonnes of 24-degree palm oil with a rise of 69,502.312 tonnes as compared to 347,426.78 tonnes last month and 147,254.314 tonnes of 44-degree palm oil with a reduction of 49,334.296 tonnes when compared with November’s 196,588.61 tonnes.

    Details for China’s imports of palm oil in December: 364,516 tonnes from Indonesia, down 10,668 tonnes by 2.8% from November’s 375,184 tonnes and down 109,187 tonnes by 23% from 473,703 on a year-on-year basis; 202,434 tonnes from Malaysia, up 30,819 tonnes by 17.9% from 171,615 tonnes last month but down 3,375 tonnes by 1.6% from 205,809 tonnes the same month of last year; 83 tonnes from Thailand; 22 tonnes from Netherlands and 21 tonnes from Denmark.
