China’s Soybean Crush Weekly (Week 31, 2018)

    Now that some mills resume normal operation, national soybean crush this week (July 28th- August 3rd) further climbs to 1,766,100 tonnes (1,395,219 tonnes of soybean meal, 335,559 tonnes of soybean oil), up 94,750 tonnes by 5.66% from 1,671,350 tonnes on the week. Meantime, soybean processing rate (capacity utilization) also rises to 51.12%, about 2.74 percentage points higher than 48.38% attained last week. Total soybean crush in week 32 next week, according to Cofeed, will probably reach 1.85 Mln tonnes and even 1.90 Mln tonnes in week 33 if operation rate further improves.

    Soybean crush in year 2017/2018 (as from 1 October 2017) now amounts to 74,623,620 tonnes, a rise of 1,337,043 tonnes or 1.82% as compared to 73,286,577 tonnes in year 2016/17. National soybean crush in calendar year 2018 (as from 1 January 2018) has totaled 50,018,000 tonnes, still 1.12% or 567,779 tonnes below 50,585,779 tonnes on a year-on-year basis.
